Planning for the year ahead in our church and the villages it serves

Our church leadership team met on Saturday 17th February 2018 for its annual 'Away Day' to review the goals we set for our parish last year and look to the future! Find out more by clicking on the link below.

Church 'Away Day' plans for the future!

We had a really productive ‘away day’ for (in the the jargon!) our Ecumenical Church Council, or in other words the church leadership team on Saturday 17th February 2018.

This event takes place each year when we come together to focus on 'Growth Action Planning' by reviewing the annual objectives or goals we have set for the parish and our work in Thornton-le-Moors, Ince and Elton over the previous 12 months and to set new ones for the year ahead.

Our regular meetings are often taken up with the day-to-day and practical issues that affect our church community so it is always valuable for us to share our ideas for growth, mission, future projects and how we can continue to reach out into our villages in a relaxed atmosphere without other distractions. That doesn't mean to say we didn't work hard in both the morning and afternoon sessions, we had a very full and open discussion across a range of topics. More information will be available in the weeks and months ahead as we start to implement the goals we have set for 2018/19.

Thank you to our friends at All Saints, Hoole for hosting us at what was a really encouraging day!

Nature Notes from Andy Ankers, March 2018

Once again Andy Ankers gives us his 'Nature Notes' for March 2018. We are reminded of these words from Psalm 96.11-12: "Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it. Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy."
