Telling the story of Elijah at Messy Church!

Messy Church had a fantastic time on Saturday 13th May 2017 learning all about Elijah. Check out our photographs to see all the wonderful activities the children (and adults!) attending got up to!

Telling the story of Elijah!

Our popular and growing 'Messy Church' had a superb time at their latest session learning all about Elijah. Commenting on the event, local Vicar and one of our Messy Church leaders, Ruth Ackroyd said:

"We had a fantastic time at Messy Church this morning learning all about Elijah.

  • Elijah went into the desert, so we made a desert;
  • Elijah climbed a mountain to listen to God, so we made mountains out of all kinds of things;
  • We did some scratch art all about Elijah;
  • The mountain shook when Elijah climbed it, so we made our own seismographs and
  • At 'all together' time we told the story in actions of God speaking to Elijah on the mountain.

What a brilliant day was had by all!"

Have you thought about joining Messy Church?

Messy Church is just what it sounds like – fun, with crafts and activities, informal and well, messy!

It’s designed to be church for families who want to know about Jesus, but aren’t able to come to, or prefer something different from a traditional Sunday morning service.

We meet every month - on the first Saturday between 10am and 12noon - and finish each session with lunch. Call Ruth on 01928 72 4028 for more information.
